<p>Position 901596 – Director of Employment and Clinical Support Services</p>
<p>Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources, the <strong>Director of Employment and Clinical Support Services</strong> collaborates with the HR management team and the university community to design and sustain an effective system for recruiting and retaining workforce talent.  The Director will provide leadership and supervision to five professional and one paraprofessional staff in the delivery of university SPA/CSS employment programs (Subject to the State Personnel Act and Clinical Support Services) that will advance the university’s strategic goals and objectives. The selected candidate will perform the full-range of managerial duties with emphasis on hiring, retaining and engaging staff accountable for exemplary customer service.   The successful candidate will possess the necessary skills to understand the organization’s key business drivers in order to function as an effective business partner with university leadership.  The Director will continue to build a trusted and respected HR Employment program and gain the confidence of others at all levels in the organization. The candidate will creatively apply professional knowledge, skills and abilities to strategize and plan, coordinate and administer our employment programs that: 1) identify and proactively respond to trends and their impact on the organization’s long term goals; 2) manage change efforts that encourage and engage staff at all levels in the improvement process; and 3) help constructively shape the organization’s work culture.</p>
<p>Graduation from a four-year college or university preferably with coursework applicable to HR management, and/or business administration; and four years of directly-related program development and HR management experience demonstrating competencies needed to perform the work at a high achievement level (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).  Master’s Degree and direct experience managing an Employment function of comparable scope preferred.</p>

Administrative functions for all benefit programs include serving as a liaison for the benefit providers and employees in all aspects of the benefit plans including education, training, enrollment and maintenance for active and retired employees.   Additional administrative duties of this position include assisting with pay plan changes, employee activities, coordination of some aspects of payroll, coordination of employee wellness initiatives, maintenance of personnel records, budget preparation and review, research and preparation of technical reports and statistical analysis.</p>
<p>Requirements include five to seven years of responsible Human Resources experience, preferably in benefits administration including supervisory experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in HR or Public Administration or a related field.    Masters Degree preferred.  Additional requirements include prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.  </p>
<p>Qualified candidate must also possess excellent written and oral communication skills and have the ability to handle multiple priorities through time management and organization.   </p>

In addition to being a full-time student, Tanner currently works at ARAMARK in Greenville, where he was recently promoted from HR intern to HR Assistant. At ARAMARK he is responsible for new employee orientation, the employee reporting hotline, and assisting managers with terminations. After graduation, Tanner plans to attend ARAMARK’s 9-month training program in Philadelphia, PA where he will spend the first 3 weeks learning about ARAMARK’s HR department. Ultimately, he plans to become an HR Manager at ARAMARK. </p>
