The Human Resources Manager provides and manages human resources services, programs, and policies that attract, retain, train, and develop qualified teammates for the successful operation of the division and to meet the future needs of the organization.

 

  • Ensure compliance with all company and government regulatory standards in all areas of human resource governance.

  • Work in partnership with division leadership to determine required people resources, training needs, identification of leadership talent, and succession planning.

  • Implement and administer teammate benefits programs and heighten teammate awareness of these programs.

  • Assist with budgeting process for training, safety, benefits, and other initiatives and activities.

  • Administer compensation policy and direct day-to-day salary administration and planning.

  • This position has additional duties; special projects may be assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, HR, or related field.

  • Have 7 years of leadership experience in all facets of HR.

  • Ideal candidate will come from Logistics, Warehousing, Transportation, etc.

  • PeopleSoft experience. 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of distribution systems, market and competition preferred.

Human Resources Assistant - ECVC

East Carolina Vocational Center

 

Position Summary

 

The HR Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the HR department. This position is responsible for record-keeping, file maintenance, data entry, coordinates staff training, and other duties as assigned by the HR Manager. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain and adhere to strict company confidentiality guidelines

  • Assist in coordinating full cycle recruitment process 

  • Conduct pre-employment and post-employment eligibility and onboarding processes  

  • Assists HR Generalist with new employee orientation by serving as a back-up facilitator, completing Forms

I-9, verifying I-9 documentation and maintaining I-9 files and affirmative action files, preparing new-employee files, and providing payroll and benefit information to Payroll Manager

  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions

  • Assists with processing of status and pay changes through creation of Personnel Action Forms

  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the HR staff

  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions

  • Files documents into appropriate employee files

  • Serves as Editor of newsletter

  • Coordinates employee appreciation events

  • Plans and schedules Wellness events including monthly topics and clinics

  • Possess knowledge of state and federal employment laws and fair hiring practices

 

Physical Demands

 

  • Sedentary to light work with lifting usually no more than 20 lbs.

  • Ability to hear/speak or otherwise communicate effectively and efficiently with others

  • Good near visual acuity or ability to see small print  

  • Ability to use hands/arms or otherwise operate computers, copiers, or other office machines    

 

Work Environment

 

  • Primarily an office environment but will travel to all ECVC locations including manufacturing, sorting, and production.

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Associate’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience

  • 2 – 3 years of administrative or clerical support preferred in an HR environment

 

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
